The Free Medical Clinic is open every Monday night (unless a major holiday falls on Monday). Patient registration runs from 5:00-6:00 PM and patients are seen from 5:30 to 7:30. Patients are seen on a first-come, first-served basis; no appointments are accepted.

The Clinic is intended to serve people who otherwise lack access to affordable medical care. It is not intended to replace regular healthcare services for patients who have access to care.

School sports physicals are available for students who are unable to obtain one on their own. A parent or guardian must be present. Please bring your school’s sports physical form which you can print off your district website. For West Des Moines students, you will need this form: 2024-25 Sports participation form (1)

Clive Community Services Free Clinic opened its doors in the summer of 2017. Our clinic is a member of the Free Clinics of Iowa Network. Clive Community Services Free Clinic offers basic healthcare through volunteer physicians, nurses, and other health professionals at no cost to patients.

In addition to basic care, the Clinic may host occasional events/clinics such as a sports physical event, flu shot clinics, a mobile dental clinic, or vision screenings. These events are advertised ahead of time on our website and social media.

Volunteer physicians and nurses are needed. Insurance for medical professionals is offered through the Volunteer Health Care Provider Program which offers indemnification to free clinics and its volunteer health care providers through the State of Iowa.

Other volunteers will include greeters, receptionists, interpreters, and social workers.
