Clive Community Services is proud to stand in friendship with the Walnut Hills Garden of Faith, Food, and Learning. This garden, located on the grounds of Walnut Hills United Methodist Church at the corner of 128th & Hickman in Urbandale, offers gardening space to many of the families we serve. The garden houses 60 plots – or allotments – for families to tend their own crops. In an allotment gardening system, each family grows the crops of their choice, is responsible for all labor in their own plot, and harvests from their own plot. The garden is fenced, has water available, and offers tables, benches, composting and a porta-potty.

If you love to garden and are looking for a way to serve, Clive Community Services would love for you to take a plot at the Walnut Hills Garden of Faith, Food, and Learning to grow food for our pantry!! Our donations of traditional American garden produce are very strong, but international garden offerings would be welcome. This would be a meaningful experience through which you would experience fellowship with your fellow gardeners, many of whom are immigrants.
