How to Help

We’ve had many people ask us how they can help support us right now. Most of the buildings with our collection bins in them are closed right now. If you want to donate items, the easiest way to do it is to shop from our Amazon wish list. Items are being delivered to our homes because there’s always someone at our houses right now. If you want to drop off items at our office, our standard office hours are Monday 9:30-7:00, Wednesday 9:30-2:30, Friday 9:00-12:00. However, we cannot guarantee someone will always be there. It’s better to call ahead at 515-257-8550. The best time to bring donations right now is Mondays 9:30-12:00 or 3:00-4:00 or by emailing director@clivecommunityservices.com to arrange for dropoff or pickup.

What to donate: food items are very much appreciated. Nutritious food and ingredients for making a meal. Personal care items, such as toilet paper (if you have some to spare), soap, toothpaste, laundry detergent, dish soap, diapers, wipes, paper towels, tissues. You can also mail us a check to Clive Community Services, 2190 NW 82nd St Ste A, Clive, IA 50325 or donate online.

What not to donate: Clothing, miscellaneous household items, books, toys. We are only distributing food and personal care items right now.

Volunteer: We need volunteers to serve our clients, Mondays 4:00-7:00 and Fridays 9:00-12:00. We’re updating our calendars a week ahead at a time to reflect our changed service. We’re currently setting up tables outside our front doors to do initial client intake, then volunteers inside the people are collecting pre-bagged canned goods and bagging meat, refrigerated items, produce and personal care items as requested.
